Aboriginal playwriting has moved on from didactic, 'catch-up' theatre.

The need to educate audiences was a burden that weighed on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playwrights when they met in Sydney more than 20 years ago. Now there's a drive to tell stories in new ways.

We drop in on Yellamundie, the first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playwriting festival to be held in Sydney since 1989.
