On the 27th May 1967, people across Australia voted in a pivotal referendum that gave the Commonwealth the power to make laws relating to Indigenous Australians.

This Friday is the 49th anniversary of that referendum, and to mark it, a new multimedia work will be projected on the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

It's called Songlines, and it’s part of Vivid Sydney, the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas.

Songlines draws on Indigenous creation stories from across Australia and it features the work of six Indigenous artists. Michael speaks to one of those artists, Djon Mundine OAM.
