The play Winyanboga Yirrunga by Andrea James is inspired by a spiritual journey shared with others through conversations and understanding the traditional Yorta Yorta Country Culture.

The play 'Winyanboga Yurringa' which means Women Of The Sun, was inspired by a trail blazing SBS television series.

The performance was developed by Sonia Borg alongside the late great Hyllus Maris and has been adapted to an extraordinary play about 6 Aboriginal women, who not only bring wisdom to Aboriginal women's business, but also an identity for those who are rarely acknowledged.
According to Andrea James the play is set in a time period expanding over the generations of the six women and hosts a truly moving view into the complexity of women's business.

It is a combination of these women's philosophies, their fears, their hopes and dreams for the future.

In its Sydney and Melbourne tour, the play featured an amazing cast of brilliant women: Kylie Coolwell, Alexis Lane, Angeline Penrith, Tessa Rose, Pamela Young and Matilda Brown.

Andrea James  says that it is very rare to have this many Aboriginal women performing in the same play.
