The Way added 15 new photos of Ningenah
Today 5 years ago we laid the most lovable character and precious friend to rest - the one and only Sam Hookey "Ningenah". He would have been over the moon about his sendoff. Redfern Street was closed and the church was filled to the rafters and spilled out to the other side of the street. Ning would have loved the Tigers casket, he was always such a proud supporter. He also would have loved the Police escort all the way to the Cemetery. You were so loved and respected my beautiful friend and brother. Rest in Peace dear Ning xx [The Way]

the redfern group of grandmothers against removals
The Werribee Clinic was established by GMAR Sydney in early 2016 as a free community service for Indigenous and non-Indigenous families, run by Indigenous women. It advocates for families affected by state child removals. The Clinic offers assistance with child safety and family court matters; support for court appearances and paper- work in relation to maintaining care of children, educational meetings at school, mental well-being meetings, legal meetings with police or lawyers; referrals to legal service providers, mental well-being services and other activities; and generally providing a ‘listening ear’ for families who have suffered trauma. This clinic runs for three hours, twice a week from RCC 11-2. It also supports families through home visits and phone contact. 0434160240 or 0411430440 [ALS] |
