Battle of Waterloo
Wharf Theatre, written by Kylie Coolwell first presented at the Redfern Salon See the cast rehearsing on NITV News
Listen to Awaye for a chat with Kylie
In 2009, I moved to Waterloo with my partner and have lived there ever since. I love the place. Even though it’s not far from the city, Waterloo is a bit like a country town where everybody knows each other - and your business, but that's what makes it such a wonderful community to be part of. While there’s a lot of negative press about this largely public-housing community, it’s important that people who don’t have any connection to this place have the opportunity to see the humanity, dignity and love that keeps us strong, as well as the sharedpain of dispossession and loss that people are trying to overcome. Molly's story on ABC 7.30 Report
You will hear Molly's story on ABC 7.30 Report. But Molly can't tell it. So you will hear her story as told by her mother, Judy. And you will see part of her story as shown through CCTV footage. Molly's story will shock you. And it will be very hard to watch, particularly if you have teenage children. But it's a story that must be told. And it's a story about how the ALS helps people. NSW Police are involved in this story. [ALS] | See also Lateline
